The family office of M Crowd Restaurant Group Founder Ray Washburne announced Aug. 27 that it has created a new real estate investment, development and operations firm to manage the family’s commercial properties. Gillon Property Group (GPG) is a vertically integrated real estate enterprise governed by the Washburne family’s single‑family office, Gillon Capital. Ray’s son Hill Washburne, president of Gillon Capital, will serve as executive chairman of GPG.
According to a press release, the new entity will be “the exclusive manager and steward” of both legacy and future Washburne family investments across all aspects of the real estate lifecycle. The family’s current portfolio includes the Shops at Clearfork (Fort Worth, Texas), The McKenzie and The Galatyn (Dallas), Scottsdale Design District (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Phillips Place (Charlotte, N.C.), Country Club Plaza (Kansas City, Mo.) and management of Watters Creek Village (Allen, Texas) and several other properties across 10 states.
“Gillon Property Group represents a natural evolution of our family’s real estate legacy,” Ray Washburne says in the press release. “We’ve assembled a highly capable team to build on what has already been achieved, with the vision to grow thoughtfully into the next generations of our family. Given the current commercial real estate environment, we believe there is a true need for high-touch, longer-term operators who drive true value creation — and that is precisely our forte.”
